Oct 6, 2019, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm | Free | Central Hillside Community Center and Park

Event Navigation

Witness for Peace Midwest and the Witness for Peace Solidarity Collective host a short documentary and discussion with Leider Valencia, Colombian National Coordinator of La Coordinadora Nacional de Cultivadores de Cocoa. Leider will share his perspective as a campesino organizer and discuss the forces threatening the Colombian Peace Accords process for small growers in rural areas, as well as their efforts to develop diversified crops and how movements in the U.S. may contribute to solidarity in action.

The event will also feature a silent auction, tacos and refreshments.

Donations are gratefully accepted to support the work of the Witness for Peace Solidarity Collective and their partners in Latin America
