The College of St. Scholastica and the University of Minnesota Duluth co-sponsor a screening of the documentary film Through the Banks of the Red Cedar, about a college football coach’s efforts in 1963 to form the U.S.’s first fully racially integrated football team.

Chris Davila, director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at The College of St. Scholastica, will lead a post-screening discussion with filmmaker Maya Washington, her father Gene Washington, who is a subject in the film, and University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Hall of Fame honoree Dr. Harry Oden about the contributions of early African American pioneers in collegiate and professional sports.
