Aeronautics and Space Camp for High School Girls 2017

The University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Transportation and Logistics Research Center program hosts the second annual Aeronautics and Space Camp for High School Girls. During this two-day camp girls will learn about various aspects of aeronautics and space as well as experience current initiatives. STEM activities included in this event are flying planes on simulators, taking part in a rocket launch, touring local companies: Lake Superior Helicopters, Cirrus Aircraft, Monaco Air, 148th Fighter Wing and Airport control tower. Learn about the history of women in aviation, visit the UMD Planetarium and learn about careers in aeronautics and space industries. On campus lodging is available for participants. The cost of lodging and meals are included in the registration fee, which is $50 per girl.
