Duluth lost a true friend and artist when Mimi Parker of Low died on Nov. 5 after a challenging battle with ovarian cancer. Her spirit remains in the form of the music she left behind, one special gift being the band’s beloved Christmas album recorded in 1999.
The event will feature a cookie potluck — a nod to Parker’s love of baking — and a craft table where people can decorate a commemorative tree ornament. Attendees are encouraged to bring cookies to share, crafting hands and listening ears. Hot chocolate will be available for purchase.
There is a suggested donation of $10, which will go to benefit Churches United in Ministry, a local organization with programs serving more than 8,000 low-income, homeless, hungry, isolated or otherwise marginalized community members each year.
