Opening Reception: Remnants and Gravare

“Remnants,” an exhibit in the Kruk Gallery, showcases the work of Amy Varsek, Matt Kania, John Sager and Erin Endsley. The four use their own unique materials — from fiber, photography, found materials and printmaking — to explore the idea that art can be a marker for the artist’s interpretation of their observations of reality.

“Gravare” is a solo exhibition in the Project Gallery, Room 2123 of the Holden Fine Arts Center, featuring the printmaking prowess of local artist Shannon Cousino. This series of woodblock prints is years in the making and explores Cousino’s understanding of grief and the emotional process of creating art.

Both exhibitions will share an evening celebration with artists on site to answer questions and visit with attendees.

“Gravare” will be open for viewing weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Nov. 23. “Remanants” will be open weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m. through Dec. 15.
