DESCRIPTION:Participants in this two-hour block-printing session with Anna Kidd from Wild Kidd Design decorate their own bandana with stamps\, using as few or as many as desired. More than 60 hand-carved block prints inspired by nature\, wildlife and a north woods vibe are provided\, along with two or three options for bandana colors. Attendees can also bring their own T-shirt\, tote bag or other fabric item to decorate if desired.  \nThis event is part of Ursa Minor’s annual Oktoberfest celebration\, so five Oktoberfest and Ursa Minor themed blocks are also available to choose from. \nThe cost is $30 per person and $5 for each additional bandana/print project. SUMMARY:Take Back the Hike with PAVSA
DESCRIPTION:Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault hosts a supportive hiking group at local trails and parks. \nTake Back the Hike is a private and trauma-informed hiking group to encourage safe\, guided connections to community and nature in the Twin Ports. Hikes are led by two advocates\, and select hikes feature special guests to provide additional educational information about the trails\, flora and fauna. \nThis biweekly group offers a mix of easy-to-moderate hiking opportunities\, ideal for beginners and experienced hikers alike. DESCRIPTION:Lake Superior Estuarium is open every Friday and on the first Saturday of each month during the fall. A special activity is planned for each open Saturday. \nThe Estuarium houses family-centered exhibits that tell the story of the St. Louis River Estuary\, Lake Superior and the communities on their shores. It also includes a classroom\, meeting space and offices. The exhibit hall includes a play area for young children\, maps to orient visitors to the largest estuary on Lake Superior\, and information to help anyone explore. \nAn estuarium is gathering place for learning and play. The term is a combination of words “estuary” and “museum.” Staff in the exhibit hall offer information about how fresh water\, ecology and culture coexist and thrive in the Lake Superior watershed.  \nThe Estuarium is hosted by the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve and is a red building on Barker’s Island in Superior.
