The North Shore Scenic Railroad and Fitger’s are partnering to offer train service to Bentleyville on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 30 to Dec. 23. The Bentleyville Shuttle departs Fitger’s twice each night to provide roundtrip train service to the popular tour of lights in Bayfront Festival Park. The Christmas City Express on the North Shore Scenic Railroad is an annual train ride and storytelling experience. Trains leave from the Depot on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 24 to Dec. 17. The intersection of 24th Avenue West and Piedmont Avenue has had a temporary stop light installed to help with the increased traffic flow during the Twin Ports Interchange Project. Gunflint Mail Run (Canceled)
This event has been canceled due to lack of snow. The Gunflint Mail Run sled dog race is a continuous race consisting of two legs of equal distance, separated by a mandatory layover. This year 10 teams are participating in the 65-mile race.

AAA Duluth hosts a Transportation Security Administration pop-up event the week of March 25-29. Those interested should go to the TSA website to make the appointment and fill out the application, then visit the AAA office for a 15-minute appointment with TSA to verify. The hours are Monday though Friday, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
