Bulldog Skate
The University of Minnesota Duluth Figure Skating Club will give ice skating lessons during its Bulldog Skate event. All abilities are welcome. A 30 minute group lesson focusing on foundational skating skills will be followed by 45 minutes of open ice time. Participants need to bring skates, helmet, indoor ice rink clothing. Soccer Playtime at the Library with Kickstarters Soccer
Kickstarters Soccer will provide a playful way to introduce soccer skills to young children in a creative and fun environment. Parent participation is required; no drop-offs. The East Duluth Catholic Parishes are hosting a three-on-three basketball tournament at Stella Maris High School to raise funds for their youth's summer retreat opportunities. There is a youth division for students ages 11-15 and an adult division for individuals ages 15+. Registration for the youth division is $45/team and the adult division is $60/team. Ideal for folks who already have a little experience in a kayak, since there is no structured lesson, but beginners are welcome. A mentor will be present to answer questions. Storage Waxing with Coach Cork
Jason Cork, long-time coach of cross-country skier Jessie Diggins, will be at Ski Hut to storage-wax skis and pontificate on the World Cup season that was 2023/24. Coach Cork will field any and all questions on World Cup stories, coaching tips, where to find the best Ramen, which are the greatest punk bands in history, and anything else asked of him. No charge for the wax job.

The Twin Ports' Harbor City Roller Derby team competes against the Minneapolis North Star Roller Derby team. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the first whistle blows at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door and kids under age 12 get in for free with a paid adult. An after party will be held at the Superior Flame following the competition.
