Norton Park Community Input Session
The City of Duluth’s Parks and Recreation Division invites the public to an interactive community-input session for proposed improvements to Norton Park. Additional public input is needed at this time to help guide investment priorities and to better understand community needs and preferences for park improvements. William A. Irvin 5K 2024
The 30th annual William A. Irvin 5K kicks off a weekend of running events and festivities surrounding Grandma’s Marathon. The 3.1-mile course starts and finishes near the William A. Irvin ore boat located next to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. The course passes some of Duluth’s most iconic landmarks, including Bayfront Festival Park, Sister Cities Park, Gichi-ode' Akiing Park, the Lake Superior Maritime Museum, the Aerial Lift Bridge and the William A. The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile race held in conjunction with Grandma's Marathon. With rolling hills and a net downhill elevation, the racecourse starts north of Duluth and runs along Scenic Highway 61, hugging the shores of Lake Superior before taking participants through the heart of Downtown Duluth and finishing in historic Canal Park. The 48th annual Grandma's Marathon is a 26.2-mile race on scenic Highway 61 along the north shore of Lake Superior. It begins just outside of Two Harbors and finishes in Duluth's Canal Park. The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon begins at 6:15 a.m. on the edge of Duluth's city limits and follows the regular marathon course through the heart of Duluth. The full marathon starts at 7:45 a.m. The winner should cross the finish line around 10 a.m.

John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon 2025
The 40th running of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon begins at Billy's Bar. The start of the race is open to the public and free to attend. A gate or shuttle donation of $5 per individual or $10 per family is suggested. The Beargrease is the longest sled-dog race in the lower 48 and is a qualifier for the famed “Iditarod” in Alaska.
