Musical Bingo with the Mackie Brothers
The acoustic trio of Mark Connolly, Dan Vaught and Ed Esselstrom perform well-known songs at this fundraising event while audience members sing along and dab away at bingo cards to compete for prizes from local businesses. The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary is presenting the profound beauty of the Tenebrae Service. Tenebrae, Latin for darkness or shadows, sets the contemplative tone for this sacred evening. Named after "Tenebrae factae sunt," the service reflects on the darkness during Jesus' crucifixion, weaving spiritual reflection through poignant music. The cathedral choir, organist, soloists and the schola ensemble will lead a moving experience of song, scripture and prayer.

Every Saturday from Jan. 6 to April 27 is jazz day at the Duluth Depot. The former Club Saratoga Jazz Quartet performs live, trackside, in the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. The quartet features Randy Lee on reeds, Paul Lerino on piano, John Thorene on bass and Jerry Siptroth and other special guests on drums. A variety of beverages, snacks and fresh popcorn are available for purchase.

Duluth-based punk rock artist Emma Jeanne plays as both a solo act and as a trio. Beyond the Trees writes songs that touch on real-life experiences from the happy little moments to the real deep, hard to talk about struggles such as depression, death and heartache.
