Duluth Area Family YMCA and the Superior Douglas County Community YMCA will be hosting Healthy Kids Day.YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day includes fun active play and educational activities to keep kids moving and learning, in order to maintain healthy habits and academic skills to achieve goals and reach their full potential. Have a night to remember with your Superhero dressed in their Superhero best. The ticket price includes dinner, dessert, a photo booth, face painting and a live DJ providing music and dance lights. The event will also feature live balloon twisting with Lauralloons, professional portraits taken by Alan Johnson Photography and a special surprise guest from a certain Spiderverse. Writer Katie Perttunen teaches writing within six weeks at Foundations of Flash Fiction. Perttunen has published two books, written for three newspapers and was the poetry editor for an online literary magazine. This class is best for ages 12 and older and is for both experienced and beginner writers. Participants will need to bring paper, writing implements and the book "Elements of Style".

Duluth Children's Museum is offering monthly Play and Learn sessions. Caregivers and children will enjoy a hands-on STEAM program, followed with museum exploration. Other early childhood development resources provided by the Northland Foundation will be available to participants. Pre-registration is not required and sessions are open for everyone.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources offers free admission to all 75 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas on four days each year. On Free Park Days the DNR waives the requirement for a vehicle permit to enter state parks and recreation areas. The entrance fee waiver does not cover activities like camping, rentals or tours.
