Sobriety Feast
The Sobriety Feast is a cultural and spiritual place for Native American community members working toward sobriety. Feast are held on the last Friday of each month, led by Indigenous community leaders Frances Saukko and Joel Boshey. This event includes drumming, smudging practices, prayer, spiritual advisors and speakers. The drum is specifically used for this event, and sage is used to smudge attendees. The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce's After Hours networking events are held on select Tuesdays. Better in Our Backyard's third annual Winter Dinner is an evening for connecting with like-minded peers and local industry leaders while supporting responsible industrial development. The keynote speaker is Lucy Crane, environmental, social and governance sustainability manager at Cornish Lithium Limited. She will address extracting lithium and other battery metals from geothermal waters. Lithium is a key metal in electric car batteries.

Ely Folk School and the Northern Lakes Arts Association hold monthly Makers' Market and Mixer events to celebrate community, craft and changes of the season. There are locally made artisan goods, live music and seasonal refreshments. The market is from 2 to 4 p.m.; mixer is from 4 to 5 p.m.
