Handel’s Messiah
Join Borealis Chamber Artists as they perform Handel’s Messiah at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. This concert is a part of the new Cathedral Music Series. The event is free, although we invite audience members to reserve their free tickets through the Borealis Chamber Artists website. Come take part in this holiday tradition and celebrate the coming Christmas season with Handel’s timeless masterpiece.

All are invited to celebrate the story of Christmas. Children attending are encouraged to play a part in the Christmas Eve Pageant. Costumes are ready for visitors to wear upon arrival. Any child wishing to play an Angel, Sheeptender, Wise Person or Creature is invited to do so. No practice needed. Please arrive by 3:30 p.m. for costume distribution and a brief orientation.

Celebrate the season with a night of nerdy holiday fun. There will be door prizes, awards, games and bassoon music. Presentations include: Historian Jess McCullough will present an unrecognizable Europe with "Blood and Peppermint: The Implied Geopolitics of the Netflix Christmas Universe (NCU)." Troy Abfalter discusses local holiday lights displays with "Little Sweater-Beard: Magic, Mythology and Outdoor Holiday Gatherings in Duluth." Board & Brush Creative Studio presents this do-it-yourself three-hour workshop for creating unique wood signs. Participants select a wood project from the gallery. All the materials are provided, along with step-by-step instructions for creating a piece for the home or for a gift. A variety of paint and wood stain colors are available to choose from. Preregistration is required at boardandbrush.com. Ugliest sweater will win a free workshop.
