Otter Slide 2022 Submission Deadline
Otter Slide is a virtual outdoor fundraiser for Great Lakes Aquarium in which participants sign up to ski, snowshoe, fat-tire bike or pull a kid on a sled. The route? Any local trail. When? Whenever. Participants collect sponsorships and raise money for Great Lakes Aquarium while enjoying winter. Full details at glaquarium.org.

The fourth annual Aqua Affair raises money for animal care, educational programming, community outreach and exhibit design at Great Lakes Aquarium. The event includes live, local music, food and beverages. Raffle tickets for $20 will be sold on site and upon request at events @ glaquarium.org. The event is for ages 21 and older.

A celebration event featuring wolf and wildlife organizations who will be on hand to share news, informational tables and advocacy on the gray wolf and other wildlife. Presentation by Jane Weber from Timber Wolf Alliance on Wolf Biology and Ecology at 11 a.m. Special appearance by a live raptor from the Wildlife Science Center. The Wonder of Wolves Art Exhibit will also be on display.

Explore winter trees, shrubs, birds and the myriad changes as spring arrives. Latimer will reveal the importance of collecting annual observational data about the firsts, lasts and changes in the outdoor world and its importance in our world today. This art exhibition is presented by a group of senior design students at the University of Minnesota-Duluth who are seeking to raise money for Animal Allies. The show features artwork for sale from Duluth artists, students and the animals themselves. The opening event includes live music and refreshments. The works will remain on display until May 6. People ages 55 and up can visit the Lake Superior Zoo for a private guided tour and a special behind-the-scenes program. Learn how the Association of Zoos and Aquariums are helping with ring-tailed lemur conservation and meet a zookeeper to watch the lemur troop feed.
