Does anyone know locations for outdoor tennis courts in Duluth where you don’t have to pay a court fee to play?

Lake Superior Surfing … Hang Ten!

Team Red Bull finds some nice waves on Big Sexy (aka Lake Superior). Never under estimate Big Sexy, she can be a real bitch.

Frozen Four: UMD 4, Notre Dame 3

The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs defeated Notre Dame 4-3 to advance to Saturday’s Frozen Four NCAA men’s hockey national championship game against the winner of the North Dakota / Michigan game.

J.T. Brown had a goal and an assist to lead the Bulldogs to the semifinal victory. Mike Connolly, Jack Connolly and Kyle Schmidt also scored.

Where can we watch ultimate fighting in the Twin Ports?

We’ve tried Buffalo Wild Wings, which is a fun place, but it’s always good to have some options. Where else can one partake in the UFC ritual in this area?

Help out an aspiring Duluth runner

Hello Duluthians.  I am trying to do more running as the season warms up … although at this point what I actually do is closer to “lumber” or “amble quickly.”  Anyway, running on the Duluth Lakewalk is fine, but I would like to focus on a closed 1/4 mile track.  Does anyone know of a track (or similar item) that is open to the public?

Rollerdames

It’s Saturday. My wife has a cold, and I get “the look” when I suggest that I might go out and leave her shivering under blankets.

So I’m not at the bout between the Harbor City Rollerdames and whomever they are playing tonight. [It doesn’t matter whom — they will be crushed.]

If you have results, please post here. Go Rollerdames!

It’s opening day!

This could be fun…

Not lady’s night at the Duluth Puttin’ Hut

[This post originally contained a video embed that has since been removed from YouTube.]

Duluth gets a shout out of sorts in this PlayStation ad. I thought they said Duluth Mutton Hut at first, which sounded appealing, but I’m pretty sure it’s puttin.

I don’t think there is a puttin’ hut either, sadly.

Duluth: The Real Hockey Town USA?

This will only be of interest to the biggest Duluth-o-philes, Twitter nerds (like me) and possibly hockey fanatics.

Last night for about 10-15 minutes Duluth East was trending on Twitter in the United States. This means that there was an enormous amount of “chatter” about Duluth East’s victory over Edina in the MN State High School League AA Hockey Semi-Finals.
