This just in via news release from Solve Entertainment:

AVR & Projection Artist Daniel Benoit Brings Massive Projection Mapping to Homegrown HART District Businesses Collaborate To Cover Blacklist Brewery With Digital Art Duluth, MN: Friday and Saturday May 4th and 5th projection artist Daniel Benoit and Audio Video Resources will be projection mapping Homegrown inspired visuals onto the 120e Superior Street building. Projection mapping is a technique that allows for video and images to be precisely projected onto specific features of 3d surfaces or “mapped” to the architecture of the building. The exterior of the 120e building will be illuminated by 16,000 lumens of digital art during the final weekend of Homegrown. This project is a collaboration between Audio Visual Resources, Blacklist Brewery, Solve Entertainment, Titanium Partners, and Interstate Parking. Audio Visual Resources has donated cutting edge laser projectors and the resources to bring stunning large scale public art to life for Homegrown. Of the collaboration between Duluth’s businesses, Daniel Benoit said, “It’s exciting to see Duluth’s business community coming together to support innovative creative projects. I’m looking forward to participating in the magic of Homegrown and adding an extra bit of wonder to the weekend.” The projected imagery will consist of Homegrown inspired artwork, animations based on Blacklist’s beer designs, and artwork from several of the bands playing at Blacklist. Audio Visual Resources provides audio and video services for local events, including the AV production for Duluth’s Movies in the Park series. AVR is enthusiastic about providing AV solutions for our arts community, creating opportunities for innovation, and bringing a higher level of creativity to the event production landscape in Duluth. They have donated time, labor, and equipment to make this installation possible. Projection artist Daniel Benoit moved to Duluth 2 years ago after working in Minneapolis in experimental theatre. He has since taken the position as technical director for Solve Entertainment and continues to work as a freelance designer for theatre and events.
