Presenters wanted for Browncoat Mondays

I’m lining up short (10 minute) presentations on Joss Whedon’s Firefly for Browncoat Mondays at the Zinema 2 starting at the end of this month. These presentations can be on any topic related to the series or the movie.

Here’s who we have so far (titles are mine and may change):

  • How to Make a Cunning Hat and the Jayne’s Hat Controversy – Alison Klawiter
  • Feminism and Anti-Feminism in Firefly – Lisa Horton
  • How to Curse in Chinese – Clay Helberg
  • The Politics of the ‘Verse or The Religion of Shepherd Book – Lawrance Bernabo (he hasn’t made up his mind yet)

Here’s the episode line-up. All of these are at 9:15 and free, except for the movie on April 14 which is at 7 and costs $7.

  • Feb. 24 – Pilot (both parts) & The Train Job
  • Mar. 3 – Bushwhacked & Shindig
  • Mar. 10 – Safe & Our Mrs. Reynolds
  • Mar. 17 – Jaynestown & Out of Gas
  • Mar. 24 – Ariel & War Stories
  • Mar. 31 – Trash & The Message
  • Apr. 7 – Heart of Gold & Objects in Space
  • Apr. 14 – Serenity

So we have room for a few more presentations. Send me your proposal at browncoat @ ironic1.com.

Add Luke Sharman to the line up of presenters. He will be presenting on "The End of the Civil War and the Beginning of the Wild West" on the opening night, Feb. 24.

Are the presentations before or after the shows? I haven't seen the movie Serenity yet and don't want to go to the talks if there are spoilers.
