100,000th mile club
No way Paul! My car also made 100,000 this weekend. Somewhere in Wisconsin, I managed to capture the very moment while driving. I guess they never intended the 1989 Grand Marquis to last past 99,999 as it now looks like I'm driving a brand new car!

I'm guessing Paul's car is a '98 Pontiac?

It's a 1990 Ford Taurus. I think she has another 200,000 miles left in her.

100,000 just isn't the big deal it used to be. Cars are built better, so reaching that mark isn't as big of an accomplishment. It was a big deal with my 1991 Dodge Aries wagon, because it was a crappy car. My 2000 Subaru will be hitting the 100,000 mark in a couple months, and runs about as well as when I bought it.

I put about 240K on an '88 Toyota pickup I owned when I lived out in WA. It had 75K on it when I bought it.
300K on one engine? It IS possible, but ya gotta take care of them...and they have to be made somewhere other than here in the states. (not a huge fan of Detroit autos)

I agree on the 100,000 thing not being a big deal, my last two honda's just got broken in at 100,000. Current one has 126,000 and runs like a top. Now the 200,000 mark is what I'm shooting for, if only I don't get bored with the car first.

True, it's not a big deal for a car to make it 100,000 miles. That's not the point.
What's awesome is that a bunch of nines turn into zeros at once.

my college roomate had a little party (very little) inside his VW beetle as it turned over 100,000. That took some planning.
