The first Duluth band to be cartooned?
I recently printed the new Lion or Gazelle album jackets and put together an animated loop set to the title track for everyone. I also wanted to encourage everyone to attend the Chaperone Records Inaugural Bash/Record Release Party at the Zeitgeist Arts Cafe Friday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. In addition to seeing Lion or Gazelle perform live will be a number of other great local musicians. I went to see the story of Stanless Steel, the strongman. He’s an old-school strongman, the kind that I would have seen on That’s Incredible growing up in the 1980s.

Someone struck Zayd a hard blow from behind. He was about to retaliate, when his assailant cried, “Let me ask you a question: first answer it, then strike me. I struck the nape of your neck, and there was the sound of a slap. Now I ask you in a friendly way — ‘Was the sound caused by my hand or by your neck, O pride of the noble?'”
Zayd said, “The pain I am suffering leaves me no time to reflect on this problem. Ponder it yourself: he who feels the pain cannot think of things like this.”

In July of 2011, Justin Sinks put together his first public showing of Bound. Even though it was 15 pieces and only took up half of the gallery, it was, according to Brian Rauvola, owner of the Duluth Photography Institute, “one of the biggest events the DPI had that year.”
Hello, Kyle Elden here. A book of my poetry is going to be published and released this October. I am collaborating with local painter Kate Whittaker to create a coffee-table-style book with my poems and her paintings throughout.
Tonight is the ninth show opening at the Prøve Gallery in Downtown Duluth. Nick Monson, a co-owner of the gallery, talked about the show titled “Slow Motion,” which promises to be interesting as usual. The full story is at Ennyman’s Territory.
