100% of proceeds to benefit Northland Honor Flight.

Saturday, Sept. 11 will be the 15th running (skating) of the fastest show on eight wheels. Skate 26.2 miles from Two Harbors to Duluth on one of the most scenic racecourses this side of Hawaii. It is not too late to sign up or volunteer.

I have one entry left for Grandma’s Half Marathon. First one to call Security Jewelers 218-722-6633 (ask for Carrie or Wynette) and is willing to make a check out SMDC Childrens Hospital for $150 gets it. $75 of the $150 is tax deductible.

I have auctioned these entries on ebay in the past with proceeds always going to local nonprofits and usually get anywhere from $300-$1,000. $150 is a bargain for this sold out event and it goes to a great cause.

Melody Saleh a 2 time breast cancer survivor had set a recovery goal of running The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon. She entered the lottery to get a spot in the race but unfortunately did not get selected.

Her sister-in-law Heidi Saleh made her aware that Security Jewelers in
Duluth was auctioning an entry on ebay with 100% of the proceeds to be donated to the Junior League of Duluth (which Heidi is a member of) to help rebuild the popular Play Front Park.

Melody bid and bid again and again until all the other bidders dropped out.

Every year Security Jewelers auctions off one of the entries it receives
as a Marathon Sponsor and donates all the proceeds to a local nonprofit.

Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon Entry Being Auctioned off by Security Jewelers

If you or somebody you know were not selected in the lottery for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, there is one more chance to obtain an entry! Security Jewelers, a dedicated Grandma’s Marathon sponsor, has graciously chosen to auction off the half marathon entry that they receive in return for sponsoring Grandma’s Marathon weekend. The auction is being held on eBay, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Junior League of Duluth to assist in their efforts to restore Playfront Park, an extremely popular park located on Duluth’s waterfront and used by citizens and tourists alike.
