The showcase is a series of three one-hour broadcasts on TPT, featuring short films by Minnesota filmmakers of all levels of filmmaking experience. Submit your films now! There is no cost to apply!</p>
<p>If your film is selected,</p>
<ul>
<li>it will be broadcast on Twin Cities Public Television (TPT-TV) and streamed online;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li> it will be installed in the Best Buy Film/Video Bay at the Walker Art Center;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li> you’ll be paid $500 in licensing fees.</li>
</ul>
<p>The series will be broadcast in December 2011.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.ifpmn.org/index.html" target="blank">IFP Media Arts</a>’ hit screening series, Cinema Lounge, will showcase short films by Duluth-area filmmakers at 7PM on Friday, Nov. 5 at Duluth’s <a href="http://www.zinema2.com/index.php/index/" target="blank">Zinema2 Theater</a>. The filmmakers will be in attendance for a Q&amp;A, hosted by award-winning director Stephen Gurewitz. The Zeitgeist Arts Café will host the post-screening party. <span id="more-22254"></span>The event is sponsored by Zinema2, Zeitgeist Arts, the Canal Park Lodge, and the Upper MN Film Office. Cinema Lounge is curated by Duluth filmmaker Maxwell Becker.</p>
<p>The night will also feature a &#8220;How to Apply&#8221; workshop for the <a href="http://www.ifpmn.org/mcknight.html" target="blank">McKnight Fellowships</a> in screenwriting and filmmaking. The McKnight Fellowships offer four $25,000 grants for mid-career Minnesota artists each year. IFP Funding Director Lu Lippold will talk about IFP’s other film granting programs as well: the <a href="http://www.ifpmn.org/mntv2.html" target="blank">MNTV short film series</a> and the <a href="http://www.ifpmn.org/grants.html" target="blank">Fresh Filmmaker Production Grant</a>. <p>In addition, Duluth native Sarah Jean Kruchowski’s short comedy, <a href="http://onsetphotography.photoshelter.com/gallery/Jerry-Schwingle-and-the-Happiness-Well-Production-Stills/G0000N7LabnhkG6g/" target="blank">“Jerry Schwingle and the Happiness Well,”</a> will screen as part of the “How to Apply” workshop. Kruchowski made the film after winning IFP’s Fresh Filmmaker Production Grant in 2009. The workshop begins at 5:00, and the film will show at 6:00. All film enthusiasts are welcome!</p>

<p>To apply, you’ll need a 7-page screenplay, a reel, a budget, a production plan, a resume, and other supporting documentation. DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 13, 2010.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>&#8220;Women Stand Up! A Comedy Cabaret&#8221; &amp; IFP Minnesota are pleased to announce&#8230;Women Stand Up and Shoot: A Comedic Film Competition!</p>
<p>The purpose of Women Stand Up and Shoot is to promote and encourage women writers, actors and directors in film comedies. Send in your best woman-made, woman-starry short comedy films!</p>
<p>Films will be judged by our amazing panel of nationally-known funny Minnesota-bred women: Lizz Winstead, Jackie Kashian, and Mary Jo Pehl!</p>
<p>The submission deadline is April 21, 2010. Films will be screened at the Bryant Lake Bowl Theater in May 2010. Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place.<span id="more-11332"></span></p>
<p>ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:</p>
<p>1) films must have a female writer or director;<br />
2) films must feature a female lead or leads;<br />
3) films must be comedic; and<br />
4) films cannot be longer than 10 minutes.</p>
<p>HOW TO APPLY:</p>
<p>Please send the following information in an email to Dana Buchwald at womenstandupandshoot@gmail.com:</p>
<p>1. Your name, address, phone number, and email address.<br />
2. Title of the film.<br />
3. Length of the film.<br />
4. A brief synopsis of the film (no more than 50 words).<br />
5. A short bio (no more than 50 words).</p>
<p>You may submit your film on a DVD or as a URL.</p>
<p>• If you are submitting your video online, include the link in the body of your email. You do not need to submit a DVD if your work is available online.</p>
<p>• If you are submitting a DVD, you need to send FOUR copies of the DVD.</p>
<p>Each DVD must be labeled with:<br />

<p>DEADLINE:  June 11, 2009.</p>
<p>You made a short and WE WANT TO SEE IT!</p>
<p>MNTV is a festival of short films shown on Twin Cities Public Television, TPT. We are seeking films/videos that are 40 minutes or less, made by Minnesota residents. If your film is accepted, you win $500 &#8211; $1000! And there’s no entry fee.</p>
