There are two opportunities to enjoy free train rides on the Lake Superior & Mississippi Railroad on Sept. 23. Departures are at 2 and 6 p.m. The century-old coaches have capacity for 130 riders each trip, so arrive early! More info on the PDD Calendar and Facebook.

We had a great day even with some of the worst rain of the summer. Thanks to everyone that came out to learn more about Veit's roll in the Radio Tower cleanup project and checking out the most scenic train ride in the region, the endangered Lake Superior & Mississippi Railroad. Thanks to the St Louis River Alliance and DNR for their adding information to the roll they played in helping our St Louis River cleanup projects. Also King of Creams, thanks for sticking around to serve up some hot food on a cold and rainy day.

If you missed this event you can always take a ride till the middle of October or so on Saturdays and Sundays, 1:30 & 2:30. The train will have the wood examples and end product on hand that Veit removed from the bay, for you see.

Check it out at LSMRR.org and Facebook.
