Death of Hugh A. Wetmore

The post “Buffalo Bill Cody, his little sister Helen, and their connection to Duluth” notes that Hugh Wetmore died in 1900. He did not. He died April 6, 1909 in Chicago.

What date, and in what state, if you know, did Alexander Calhoun Jester die? I have seen online at least three different dates and three different states.

Jean, thanks for the correction and question. It's been 12 years since I compiled my Buffalo Bill information, so I'll have to dig out my files and see if I can find what source gave the year 1900 or if that was just a typing blunder on my part.

My guess off the top of my head would be that my source for the year of both Wetmore and Jester's deaths was probably the book Buffalo Bill: His Family, Friends, Fame, Failures and Fortunes, but I'll have to look into that and report back.
