Tour Guides Wanted

We’re looking for responsible, reliable, friendly, and outgoing men and women – from students to retirees – to join our staff of tour guides at Superior Public Museums. We offer ~ part-time and limited term, from 4 to 40 hrs/wk, flexible schedules and daytime hours.  Great summer job for all-area students and snowbirds.

If you’re a people person who loves to engage with the public and you want to work in a friendly environment, you’re the person we’re looking for. We’ll give you all the training you need to conduct fun and interesting tours of one or more of our three historic Superior sites – Fairlawn Mansion, the S.S. Meteor Ship Museum and the Old Firehouse & Police Museum.

Tour guides at Fairlawn Mansion and the S.S. Meteor take groups of up to 20 visitors on 45 minute guided tours. These sites require guides to welcome visitors, provide information, and handle admission and merchandise sales. Requirements: You must be able to answer phones, operate a cash register, climb multiple flights of stairs and be on your feet for several hours. Old Firehouse & Police Museum tours are free and self-guided but a staff member must be there to greet visitors and answer questions as well as answer phones and operate the cash register.

If interested, please pick up an application in the Fairlawn Mansion Gift Shop or e-mail us at info @ superiorpublicmuseums.org.

Please visit our website at superiorpublicmuseums.org.

My first job was a tour guide at the Old Fire and Police Museum back in 1995. Great time.
