Looking for help mixing a CD

I know there are a lot of music recording folks out there in the PDD community, so I am posting this plea for help.

I participate in a number of drum circles with a dear friend. I had discussed making a CD of some of our sessions for her to send to her sister. My friend has fallen ill, so now time seems to be of the essence.

I have recorded about two hours of our drum circles and would like to edit and clean them up and put them on a CD for her and her family. I tried to use a few mixing programs, but I haven’t the time, patience or knowledge to figure it out. I do know when it is good to seek the help of someone who knows what they are doing though, and this is the time. So, is there someone out there who can help me?

I have about two hours of recordings. I have selected the places I’d like to split it into tracks. I need something really simple like fade in and fade out, and possibly some help bringing down some sounds that are too loud on a few of the recordings (zills). It doesn’t have to be great, because lord knows we aren’t great drummers, but I’d like it to sound as good as is reasonably possible. I expect to make about 10 copies for family and friends, and none will be sold.

Is there someone out there who can help me with this project? I am more than willing to pay for the service, but don’t know what to expect or where to start.

I am not an audio engineer and I have never mixed a CD, there are far better talents frequenting PDD in those areas than me. There are a number of professional engineers and musicians who do this stuff for a living that post and lurk here regularly.

However, I do work as a radio producer and I have been expanding into short films and other multimedia projects and recording. I think I could do what you describe, especially if you have some very detailed notes about where you want the tracks, fades and etc.

Are these digital recordings? Depending on the size and the type of file you could email them to me, or provide me with a CD or a jump drive or some other form of raw media.

You should have my email with this comment, email me and we can talk logistics. If not, my email address is: JP (D0T) Rennquist (AT) Gmail (D0T) com

Maybe the kids at the Music Resource Center could take this on as a project.

Baci, I thought of that, but I couldn't figure out who to contact.
