Will the Corner of the Lake freeze this year?
Anybody have photos or video of when it froze, solid and smooth, in 2007? Mine are long lost.

Here’s a video from Starfire.
Found one:
Another from Mike Scholtz
Please, please, please freeze smooth again this year, Gichigami.
That was the year they discovered the derelict remains of that old tug in the shallows, right?
You are correct about that one.

Water temp is 35 degrees and falling … no wind higher than 15mph predicted til next week … good conditions for a repeat.
Hmm, air and water temps trending back up, fingers crossed…
This link shows surface water temps of the lake.
I use this one and this one:
http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/ofs/lsofs/fore_temp.shtml
http://www.parkpointbeach.org/
and we’re at 34 degrees today according to the latter. 10-day weather forecast shows a couple above freezing air temps next week but many below freezing days and little wind overall, I’m feeling good about this.

Greats photographs and videos, everyone. Thanks! Our corner of the lake seems to be on the verge of Total Freezation (actual scientifical termage). Right now, from our deck, it’s a pulsating, heaving mass of broken ice. If it does attain the Third Level of Awesome Frozen-ness, it won’t be smooth enough for skating. Maybe next year…?
Up the shore past Brighton Beach there is a section of super clear ice in the shape of a giant lake creature. I demand an investigation.
This same sea creature was rolling its way along the lake by the 21st ave e exit on Friday. I fear for our safety.
How did I miss Floyd’s 14th birthday post? I’m just seeing it now. Good boy!
