  1. Wild guess: BendTec?

    Dave P | Dec 21, 2012 | New Comment
  2. That’s a very intelligent guess, but incorrect.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 21, 2012 | New Comment
  3. A school wall in Morgan Park.

    spy1 | Dec 21, 2012 | New Comment
  4. A Morgan Park mascot transferred to the Lincoln Park Middle School gym.

    spy1 | Dec 21, 2012 | New Comment
  5. Sorry, that is no wildcat.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 21, 2012 | New Comment
  6. Purely a guess: M.E. Global?

    TimK | Dec 21, 2012 | New Comment
  7. It looks Morgan Parky to me, but I get the feeling it is elsewhere.

I keep thinking it is something off the wall in the IBEW union hall over under/behind the Reef, but the hat is throwing me off. Looks like more of a safari hat than a hard hat.

    Dorkus | Dec 22, 2012 | New Comment
  8. It is east of M.E. Global and west of the Reef Bar.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 22, 2012 | New Comment
  9. It looks like a Brian Barber drawing- if he had a cutting torch.

    TimK | Dec 22, 2012 | New Comment
  10. It looks like the taconite guy in Two Harbors, though the Two Harbors guy looks all friendly and cheerful, and this guy looks like he’s about garrote someone. Is it somewhere near the ore docks?

    bluenewt | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  11. It’s west of the ore docks.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  12. Bayside Recycling?

    wildknits | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  13. It’s west of Bayside Recycling.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  14. Acme tools?

    tomasbury | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  15. It’s west of Acme Tools, but that’s the closest guess so far, geographically.

By the way, when I note “west” or “east” I use those terms in the general Duluth sense and not as actual compass points. So west means southwest, technically. But you all knew that, right?

I’m not sure if this photo mystery is extra challenging or if the weekend before Christmas was a bad time to launch a “Where in Duluth?” but we’re now up to three days without a correct answer, which is much longer than it usually takes.

So I’ll throw in an incentive. The person who solves this “Where in Duluth?” will win a rare PDD can koozie — not for sale in stores; only 22 in existence; street value easily $6,000.

You can use it on your beer bottle or your soda can …

… or on your unlabeled Cosmic Ginger handcrafted lemon and ginger elixer, or you can force canned vegetables into it for all I care.

Let’s see if that smartens you folks up.

  16. The Lake Superior Zoo?

    TimK | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  17. Now you’re just taking a guess to narrow down the terrain, right? I suppose that’s fair.

    It’s east of the zoo.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  18. ASDCO Industrial & Construction

    wildknits | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  19. No guess, but for what it’s worth that looks more like a pith helmet on him. At first I assumed it was a hard hat.

    Les F | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  20. It is west of ASDCO. I don’t know anything about what kind of helmet that character is wearing.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  21. Could be an old school hard hat. Okay, guessing my way west….Jamar? They do some custom metal fab.

    TimK | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  22. West of Jamar.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 24, 2012 | New Comment
  23. Demolicious?

    jj | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  24. It is not Demolicious, but you are only a half mile off.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  25. Wild West Liquor?

    Chad S | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  26. Wild West Liquor is pretty much exactly as far away from the correct location as Demolicious is.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  27. Either Moline or New Page.

    jj | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  28. Moline Machinery is the closest guess so far.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  29. The instagraminess of the pic makes it look like it is indoors- yes?

    TimK | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  30. Nope, it was shot outdoors.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  31. All I know is that someone should get into hand modeling. Wear oven mitts at all times.

    spy1 | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  32. Just a guess … Duluth Steel Fabricators, 5900 Main St.

    Bob L | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  33. Bob L. is the winner!

Merry Christmas, Bob. May your hand never shiver from a cold drink again.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  34. What is the longest running “Where in Duluth?” thread (this was fun)?

    TimK | Dec 25, 2012 | New Comment
  35. I think this one might be the record holder at four days. Lawrence Lee posted one over Labor Day weekend that took three days to solve, so apparently this little game doesn’t mix well with holidays.

    Paul Lundgren | Dec 26, 2012 | New Comment
  36. New Years Eve is coming- let’s go!

    TimK | Dec 26, 2012 | New Comment
