This week: Shakespeare, Sedaris, and his purple highness

Here’s a sampling of what you have to look forward to this week on the PDD Calendar.

Get your genealogy on tonight at the Twin Ports Genealogical Society meeting.

Tuesday is election day. Find your polling place and don’t forget you can register at the polls. Share your election day experience here and watch PDD for local election results.

Much Ado About Nothing opens at the Manion Theater at UWS on Thursday and runs two weekends.

David Sedaris rocks the DECC on Friday. If you saw him last time he was here, you will know that a book reading can rock a house.

The much anticipated showing of Purple Rain hits Zinema 2 on Saturday with Jody Kujawa hosting Princely karaoke.

So what are you doing this week? Can we tag along? Any upcoming events that you want to promote? Let us know!

  1. Chester Bowl is having the annual Silent Auction and Pizza, Wine and Beer Tasting at Midi Restaurant.

$25 to get in, lots of tasty food and drink, and nifty auction items to bid on. Money goes to support the ski and summer camp programs at Chester Bowl.

  2. I wonder if Jody Kujawa’s rendition of Prince songs will be as impassioned as his tribute to Bonnie Tyler?

  3. How does that goddamn video still exist? It was my birthday. Nothing should count against you on your birthday.

  4. Who’s holding it against you? I’m presenting it as evidence of awesomeness.

  5. The day I took that video, I was just buying beer at the Keyport liquor store when I heard this huge ruckus coming from the bar and had to investigate. I didn’t know it was Jody’s birthday, but then again, Jody claims about six days out of the year as his birthday, so that’s an honest mistake.
