Brewhouse to nix North Loop Plan

It looks like the Brewhouse won’t have a location in the Twin Cities.

Vita.mn: “Fitger’s Brewhouse nixes North Loop plans

Duluth craft-beer bastion Fitger’s Brewhouse has scrapped its plans to open a Minneapolis location in the North Loop space that once housed Trocaderos. Brad Nelson, a spokesman for Fitger’s parent company Just Take Action Inc., which also owns Burrito Union and Tycoons Alehouse and Eatery in Duluth, said Thursday that the scope of the project proved more than they were willing to take on at this time.

Maybe they weren't able to find any vacuous teenage hostesses for the door?

Meh. It's the cities. Throw a rock in any direction and you'll likely hit a vacuous teenager.

I can confirm that we have no shortage of vacuous teens here in the shitties. Of course, I've seen no research which leads me to conclude we have a higher than normal concentration.

Hey, I was a Vacuous Teenage Hostess back in the day (also, concurrently, an undergrad philosophy student, which is even more obnoxious). We deserve respect too!

I didn't think expanding to Minneapolis was a sound business plan anyway -- without looking at the books. Just Take Action is doing well (I think) in Duluth and going into another market would be diverting its attention (and the object of its creativity and innovation) from where it is needed, has benefited and where its rewards have been reaped.

Oops! That was badly written. Hope the right message got across.

Yah, who am I kidding? I'd be the first one hiring a smorgas of female VITs at full part-time to variegate the deck AMAP if I was a randy 45 year old who looked 20, no matter how much it pissed off the clientele. My needs come first.

I don't suppose that the recent purchase of another property in Duluth could have anything to do with it?

Well, they purchased the building in the cities in June. It was supposed to be open late fall/early winter. So, I'm assuming that plans fell through on that location and they decided to buy Endion Station. I'm also curious to when they are going to actually make the brewery in the building they own downtown. Is there a hold up because of MN law?
