Lights Out! as Migration Season ends.

My friends at Wildwoods say: “Dim the lights and brighten the future! Birds can be drawn off course by bright lights in our cities. By turning off unnecessary lights after midnight we can save money, energy and migrating birds.”

If you are interested in getting involved in a Lights Out program in Duluth, please visit The Duluth Audubon Society.

I am mixed, because as a city kid, raised in Milwaukee, I always felt like a porch light on after midnight was a sense of safety in a tough neighborhood.  Hard to shake that feeling…  But Duluth isn’t Milwaukee, I know.

I would be more worried about the 16,000-lumen street lights than your 18-lumen porch light.
