This week: penguins, snowmobiles and pride
By Lawrence Lee on Aug 27, 2012 in Events
Here’s a sampling of what you have to look forward to this week on the PDD Calendar.
Do you like paintings of penguins? Do you like paintings of bicycles? Do you like paintings of penguins on bicycles? If you answered yes to any of these questions, hie thee to Adam Swanson’s opening at the Zeitgeist Arts Café today.
Wild Bill’s Run relates the story of Bill Cooper of Willow River, who planned a trip on snowmobiles from Minnesota to Moscow in the early ’70s. It’s the next offering on the Explorers Club at the Zinema 2 on Tuesday.
Get a head start on winter with free Open Ice Skating at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center on Wednesday.
And, of course, get your Pride on Saturday!
So what are you doing this week? Can we tag along? Any upcoming events that you want to promote? Let us know!`

Carla, that film lineup is just fantastic!
Mulholland Dr is the best film of this millenium; The Bitter Tears of Petra van Kant is one of the best, most twisted, films I have ever seen; and Persona is wonderful too.
Carla, if you haven’t already, you could ask the Zinema for some supportive publicity. When my husband put a film series together for CSS a few months ago, the Zinema people were just great; they let him put brochures out, and helped to publicize it.
Zinema is extraordinarily supportive of local film showings, even when they compete with their own showings.
Good luck with that terrific series!
Correction, “Adam” Swanson.
Thanks Berv. The correction has been made.
Thanks, Berv! My mistake.

Wild Bill’s Run is really worth seeing. An incredible true-life adventure tale.
