Porch repair recommendations
By emmadogs on Aug 20, 2012 in Help Wanted, Recommendations
We have a shaker porch that is deteriorating. We want to repair it so that it continues to look original to the house (built in 1927). It looks to be a bigger project than the handymen we use can tackle. Any recommendations?

I recommend:

He and his talented crew do great work. Polite, clean, does the job right. They’ve done several projects for us here at the farm.
Tell him the shepherds sent you.
I recommend Walker Construction. They’ve done big and small jobs for us, from a complete kitchen model and, later, a two-story addition, to repairing our front door. The addition they built for us won an award from the Duluth Preservation Alliance because it looks so much like it could have been part of the original house. (Wagner Zaun was the architect.)
They are competent, pleasant, punctual, and very, very honest. Troy Walker: 218-391-9636
