Hello, Kyle Elden here. A book of my poetry is going to be published and released this October. I am collaborating with local painter Kate Whittaker to create a coffee-table-style book with my poems and her paintings throughout.
My grandma Kay, who raised me through my adolescence, passed away this past December. She was always so supportive of my writing. To be a published author has been a dream of mine for as long as I can recall. However, it has been on of those “someday” things! When my grandma died the impermanence of life, our mortality, became a stark reality. How fast time goes by, how many things we put off and then may never happen! So, in my grandmother’s honor I decided not to wait any longer. I realized there is no better time than the present to follow one’s dreams! So, I applied for a grant to publish a collection of poems from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council and was awarded. I have a publisher and the project is well underway!
You can check out the book project details if nothing more. This project also has a Kickstarter campaign, which is a fundraising tool, in order to raise the money to fully fund the publication and create the highest quality book possible.
Whether it is just to see what the project is all about, or to donate to the project (the project is over halfway to its goal with 12 days to go), I hope you will follow this link.
Thank you for your time and your support! I send you all the best!
