Zenith City Online is … online !

I just wanted to drop those PDDers with a taste for local history a reminder that Zenith City Online is up and running at zenithcity.com. I’m hoping you stop by Zenith City after your morning check of PDD for your daily dose of Duluth history with “This Day in Duluth.” This month’s issue also features … a great piece about “Jean Duluth” by PDD regular Heidi Bakk-Hansen (aka “HBH1” on these pages). And we just posted a piece by Jim Heffernan about the Master Bread billboard at Point of Rocks, previously discussed here on PDD.

And just to clarify an item in the PDD calendar, I will not only be signing copies of Lost Duluth this Thursday at the Lake Superior Marine Museum at 7 p.m., but I am also giving a presentation. Shameless self promotion aside, this is not a boring history lecture! It focuses on Duluth’s lost grand stage theaters and what they meant to the community as well as the civic leaders (and downright scoundrels) associated with them.

Thanks for the kind words, all--and thanks Lawrence for amending the calendar post. I have to ask: are you dropping the "Ironic" moniker?

As I'm officially part of the PDD team I was asked to adopt the admin's "real name" policy for posting on the blog. Don't worry, it's still my handle almost everywhere else on the interwebs.

Not much content and they seem to be very conservative about posting comments. Too bad.

llinmpls: Unbeknownst to me, comments were enabled yesterday for the first time. I had no idea there was a comment awaiting approval until I received your email this morning.
