Actually, you kind of missed the point, Jadiaz. Neither she nor anyone I’ve ever met at Loaves and Fishes is afraid of being called or embracing the notion of being an anarchist. The point is that the media portrayal of anarchists solely as scary, black hoodie-clad firesetters is not accurate.

The public’s ignorance of the difference between opinion and journalism is driving the downfall of journalism we see today. It’s really shocking that anyone would even consider thinking of this or anything like it as journalism, or that anyone would expect this or any other political protest group to behave as ethical journalists.

Loaves and Fishes is absolutely trying to bolster its position. It’s propaganda, not journalism. I guess you could say it’s bad journalism, but that’s kind of like saying the Duluth News Tribune provides terrible hospitality to homeless people and does a poor job organizing peace protests.

Even though there is a sarcastic tint to it, the author is attempting to use that sarcasm to dispel the notion that the out of towners are anarchists, which no one claimed they were in the first place. And like it or not, there are plenty of journalistic pieces laced with sarcasm.

The whole thing to me screams of Loaves and Fish trying to twist the words of another and make their position sound better by it.

I just want to point out that the statement is, “The dynamics have changed,” Ramsay said. “There are more anarchists and more people from out of town there.”

No where in that statement does it say the anarchists are the out of towners. It seems to me Loaves and Fishes is trying to misconstrue the statement to make it fit Dianne so they can get gullible people to feel like the Duluth PD is unfairly treating peaceful people.

Loaves and Fishes should be ashamed of such biased and sensationalist journalism.
