Which PDD user has the best Gravatar?
I think four brackets and a championship match will be plenty. Feel free to use the comments here to nominate someone you think should be included in the fourth bracket. I’d hate to leave out a good Gravatar.
I nominate the guy with the Goatse gravatar.
I miss Baci of Borg.
This is looking like a good, tight horse race to the end. Sadly, the first two rounds were blowouts.
I love Bev’s.
I would like to be included! Please don’t exclude me! My gravatar is from at least 15 years ago when I was messing around both with my parents’ scanner (they owned a small-town newspaper) and Photoshop, and ended up with this sort of postorized/sylized version of my own face that I’ve used from then on. I love how freaky I look. I know mine is the best, but go ahead and proceed with your little “competition” regardless.
You scanned your head? That’s awesome!
Awww… shucks Zra thanks … But I gave up assimilation for Lent. My gravitar is meant to have alot of GRAV-ity.
I kinda like mine. It’s the mascot we used for the Hotel Coral Essex that I kinda adopted as my own. It’s from a photo that Jason Kokal took and he’s just adorable!
whats better then 1/2 a plane?
I think the reason the first two rounds were blowouts owes a lot to the fact that some of those Gravatars were almost invisible on high-resolution monitors. Too small with too much detail. There might have been some good ideas going on, but I couldn’t make them out.
The images in this bracket are all much easier to see.
That’s true, Barrett…I think I even bitched about that in the first round.
But oh well, I guess that’s as big as we ever see them, so it might be unfair for some people to get larger, high-resolution pictures for the competition. It would be nice if we could view people’s pictures full-size just by clicking on them…I’ve often wondered what half of them are supposed to be.
I never figured out that Edgeways’ Gravatar is half a plane. I thought it was a dilapidated lighthouse similar to the one on Minnesota Point.
The full image of my Gravatar is from the winter of 2005/2006. I’m making a snowball and preparing to throw it at you. All of you.
And yeah, that’s the old Ford Taurus from numerous old PDD posts, including “The Fabulous 1990 Ford Taurus LX” and “Duluth-area Auto Salvage,” among others.
Sorry for hijacking, but I need to link to three more of Paul’s Ford Taurus posts from the archives.

Seeing Little Edie always makes me happy.
The figure in my Gravatar is a genuine Bryan Vollman grumpy-middle-age-guy nesting doll.
I should note that within about four hours of drudging up the old Ford Taurus issues in the comments above, the muffler rusted off my current vehicle.
Back on topic: Congratulations to Bev on her Gravatar victory. Off to the finals you go!
It’s the jealous ghost of the Taurus coming to wreck havoc on your new ride!
I totally think my Gravatar rocks.
Wait--Baci is no longer Borg? Nooooooooo!
What happened to this competition? It’s been nearly 3 weeks since the 3rd round.
The plug-in that allows PDD to do polls was disabled during a malware problem a week ago. We need to reinstall it in order to make the post.
So, it’ll happen … relatively soon.
