Tire shops in Duluth

I’m looking for recommendations on where to buy a set of new tires in Duluth.  I’ve been putting it off because, frankly, I don’t want to get ripped off.  Where to go?  How much to spend?  My ride is a 2007 Toyota Corolla.  Just a roller skate, really, but I love her, and she needs new shoes.  Help!

I recommend Fleet Farm. There isn't one in Duluth, but they are scattered around the state. I bought a set of tires from the one on Lexington Ave. and 35W this summer-- they were best on price by far, and no problems with service. The only downside is if you don't go down to the cities regularly, you can't take advantage of the free lifetime tire rotation.

I recommend Jakes Quality Tires, near Wheeler Field. Only place I go for decently priced, quality tires.

This is predicament I ran into last summer. Do I save some money or do I support local businesses? I could not do both. The national chains were all less expensive than locally owned shops (when you included the tires, mounting, balancing, disposal, air, and other fees).

I shopped around quite a bit last summer. Many shops told me if I can find a lower price "come back and we will match it." Why would I come back? If the next place will do it cheaper I will have it done there!

The result of my comparison shopping is that no one can beat the prices and coverage of Sam's Club. They have a lifetime road hazard protection, free pressure check and fill, and free lifetime rotation.

Most other places can beat their social impact though.

Good luck.

I used Duluth Tire in Lincoln Park last year for my 98 Mazda Protege. They were recommended by many friends over the years. A local outfit that has good selection and prices, fast service, no hidden fees, etc. Get some good all season radials and you are good to go for several more years in Duluth with that sensible auto! I think I paid $200 for 4 new Bridgstones. BTW - no affiliation with them.

I agree, Duluth Tire is a good choice. I've been bringing our heavily-used vans, etc. there for many years and have always been happy. They carry Cooper tires, which I believe are one of the few US-made tire companies left, if you're into that angle. They also have an alignment shop right next door that does good work. Their business name is unoffensive, they're local, and I hardly ever see any thespians or Nazis there. Don't fool yourself - good tires and alignment are highly underrated.

I'll be the fourth to chime in for Duluth Tire. Outstanding reputation.

Although I have no immediate need for tires, I know where I should go if I do! Thanks!

There's a place on Michigan St. that says "Land of 10,000 Tires" on the side. I think that's Duluth Tire.

Sounds like a good place.

Thanks. I woke up this morning and my front passenger side was flat. I drove 3 blocks to work and figured I would change it in the parking ramp after work. With the help of some passers-by it got changed. BUT then the spare was flat. I drove to SA to inflate it, and it wouldn't inflate. I don't want to drive it as I don't want to mess up the rim (even if it is a spare). I was looking to see where I should have it towed, theres my answer. Hope Duluth Tire has a tow service. Thanks for posting this.
