A moment of silence for the forested hillside…
I’ve long been entertained that they picked Duluth of all places for that feature.
I think this article is useful reading alongside the 1870 photo:

Some of those pictures look like model railroad sets.
basement of St. Ann’s Sr. Residence has a very display of pictures (or at least did a few years ago when my dad lived there). In the patio room and the hall nearby.
