I was the recipient of free gear for my first year or two of skiing back in the mid-80s. Without this, there is no way my family could have afforded to outfit us kids with all the required gear and access to a hill. The place isn't quite the same with the chairlift instead of the ol' tow rope, but it is still very worthwhile. I'm glad that the CBIC has continued to keep this going with all of the city budget issues. This program is such a gem.
