We in the US were in the midst of the Great Depression and a few years away from entering the war. And speaking of the Depression, Enger Tower was built with federal stimulus funds (the CCC and WPA). Now, during the Great Recession, stimulus money is going to repairing Central Entrance (and other local roadways). You are correct, sir! It really was a fascinating time in history.
