Heads up to local musicians:

Big Top Chautauqua is holding another songwriting competition. The long version of the details is on the “Celebration of Song” page of www.BigTop.org (scroll about halfway down the page).

The short version is, you submit two original songs by June 19. Finalists perform on the Big Top stage August 27 and have a shot at airplay on Tent Show Radio, a $100 cash prize and a chance to play a two-song set opening for Suzanne Vega.

Thanks for the heads UP!
I entered and I'm a finalist.
I googled all of the other finalists and I am CLEARLY the underdog.
They all have promo pics and websites.
I play in my attic to two golden retrievers.
UGH ... please stop by Aug. 27th and root on the Duluth underdog!

Even though Warren founded the Big Top decades ago, I think his assault is what he'll be remembered for, no matter how much time he'd serve or how much time will pass by. I wonder if there will be any songs about human weakness and forgiveness or perhaps one about vindictive, sarcastic holier than thou types who get their voyeuristic pleasure from Schadenfreude.
