If You Are in the Twin Cities Tomorrow

Ms. Laurie Hertzel, the book editor of the Mlps Star Tribune, and I will talk about books and the state of the publishing industry Tuesday evening, April 21, at the spanking-new Mlps. Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall. Our panel discussion will be moderated by Cathy Wurzer of MPR, and taped for later broadcast (I don’t know when). Event begins at 7 pm. I’m sure there’ll be a fabulous refreshments afterwards, there certainly were last time I went to a talk at the Mlps. Central Library.
Laurie Hertzel is a Duluth expat, who began her journalism career right here in D-Town, at the Duluth News Tribune. She’s also the author of several books, including Boomtown Landmarks. I write for Publishers Weekly magazine, but, unlike Laurie, have never written a book.
i think refreshments beforehand would make the whole thing much more interesting.
I totally agree with you Laurie, and intend to celebrate happy hour beforehand. Last time I went to one of these talks, the speaker, Seth Kantner, an Alaska memoirist, showed up and immediately called his publicist, and begged her to sneak him a bottle of whiskey, as he freaked a bit when he saw the huge crowd gathered to hear him speak about Alaska. This was right after McCain selected Palin as his running mate, so there was some interest.
also, if you happen to be in the cities, and are within spitting distance of Ikea, Mavis needs you to pick something up for her.
I might be able to hit Ikea next week, Zra, as I have yet another trip scheduled *next week* that will include MOA. What does Mavis need?
