Wanna Shoot my Moon?

queen of spades

I am really bad at Hearts but I love the game. Looking for some other folks that enjoy playing and wouldn’t mind giving me some pointers. Playing online just isn’t conducive to learning and people get so nasty.

Burrito Union, Carmody Pub or Luce all have pretty good size tables so if you are interested let me know. Tuesdays and Thursdays are good for me.

  1. Hey, I’d love to some Thursday, Starfire. It’s been awhile, but it would come back to me pretty quick I think.

  2. I used to play with two very competitive players so I am fairly proficient, but not a master by any means. Thursdays are better for me if you have space.

  3. I am not very good, but it could be fun.

Me and a friend were having this exact same notion except with Euchre as the game……?

  5. Hearts is so damn addictive! I remember playing once the entire weekend of a visit with some friends in Atlanta, we even took the cards with us to a cafe and played over a delicious dinner! I’ll have to try to drop by and play when I can, though I’m a total homebody on weeknights. BTW, I am quite an Anglophile, wherever did you get the cool card with Anne Boleyn on it????? I want to own cards like that one!

  6. If you’re taking preferences, I’d go Burrito Union on a Thursday, for the munchie factor. But you put out a time and place, and if I can, I’ll join ya, Starfire.

  7. I’m with the Ironic1, a good wine list and munchies at BU, and Amanda, the best server in town. BTW, Ironic, that’s a great gravatar, you look quite dashing!

  8. Dashing? Darn, I was going for roguish, but I guess I’ll settle for dashing.

I’ll second what was said about Amanda. Amanda rocks.

    Hard.

  9. Coincidentally, I am teaching middle school students to play Hearts in my elective, Advanced Cards. We played today in fact. I would enjoy playing some time at the Burrito Union. If you want to play tomorrow around dinner time, on Thursday, I’m pretty sure I can get a third (not a middle school student:) Playing with 4 is best.

  11. I’m not sure if that last message was for me but I can’t do it Tuesday. I can plan another time if you want. Next Thursday?

  14. Anne Boleyn had a small outgrowth on one hand, which many contemporaries claimed was a sixth finger, and that she was a witch. She hid the “sixth finger” with hanging sleeves. I think Anne Boleyn totally rocked, I’m a big fan of hers.
