In 1974, Stanley Kunitz selected Michael Ryan’s first collection, Threats Instead of Trees, for the Yale Series of Younger Poets. Since then Ryan has published In Winter, a National Poetry Series Selection; God Hunger, which was awarded the Lenore Marshal Poetry Prize; and New and Selected Poems, which received the prestigious Kingsley Tufts award. He’s been a National Book Award finalist and received awards from both the NEA and the Guggenheim. His poems appear regularly in The American Poetry Review, Poetry and The New Yorker.

Michael Ryan will be reading his work, so you wouldn't have to read, you could just listen.

Of course, that begs the question, "Who listens these days?"
